City Flower Baskets
The ever popular petunias are back for another year, and are being extended to include Lonsdale and Mort Streets in Braddon. This splash of colour connects Braddon to the City and is part of our Braddon beautification activity. The very dedicated Planter People took this picture just before the baskets were installed.

The competition is sponsored by www.8days.com.au, a new website partnering with retailers to get special deals out to customers. 8 Days has kindly supplied a $500 cash prize plus a dinner for two people (to the value of $250). 8 Days will judge the winner on Tuesday 3rd January.

The NGA's new exhibition
The latest blockbuster exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia displays over seventy paintings by great Italian artists such as Raphael, Botticelli, Bellini and Titian. Running from 9 December 2011 to 9 April 2012, the exhibition highlights the amazing art of Early and High Renaissance Italy. These treasures from Bergamo will only be displayed in Canberra.
The gallery is encouraging Canberra traders to get on board during the exhibition and add to the excitement for both visitors and locals.
We have a list of tips and tricks for restaurants, cafes, bars and the retail industry to help get into the spirit, plus there are some complimentary tickets to give away for businesses wishing to run promotions for their customers.
Please email info@canberracbdlimited.com.au if you'd like more information.

www.8days.com.au
A new website which is not another “deals” site. 8 Days provides the opportunity to present consumers with special offers during quiet periods of trade. The immediacy of real time offers helps attract new customers. You control every deal, every sale, every day.
Through 8 Days you deal directly with your customers, traffic is driven to you and you can utilise the online “offer management portal” from your smart phone or computer. No commissions, no middlemen. 8 Days has kindly sponsored Canberra CBD Limited’s 2011 Christmas Window Display Promotion. For more information call Joseph Griffiths 0411 163 817.
Floriade Shuttle Bus
As reported in our last newsletter, we sponsored the Canberra Centre Floriade shuttle bus which operated a free loop service, ferrying patrons between the City and Regatta Point in Commonwealth Park.
The bus was a huge success, carrying a daily average of passengers 104% higher than target. More patrons used the bus to come into the City than to head out. Similar programs are being considered for other future activities in Canberra.
